Carddeadburgh

Last post, I defined Sanityville and Crazytown. I neglected to mention Carddeadburgh, but that's another place you may find yourself travelling in the course of an MTT. If you're lucky, you go right through it and come out the other side. If you're not, Carddeadburgh will end your tournament in a New York minute. That's exactly what happened to me on Saturday night. There's precious little you can do when you're card dead in a tournament; you're unlikely to be able to bluff players off better hands, and you can't afford to fold everything, since the blinds will eat you up. You're essentially forced to back marginal hands, and fold them when they don't pan out. The moral of the story: Sanityville isn't guaranteed to take you all the way to Crazytown if you have to pass through Carddeadburgh first :-)
