Nine the hard way

The title of this post is a little joke. There's no such thing as nine the hard way :-) In craps, eight the hard way is double fours. It's hard because there's only one way to roll it. It's easier to roll a total of eight in any other combination, since each of them has two ways.

What do I mean by nine the hard way? It's my shorthand for hitting the rail at a sit and go, in a very painful way, after only nine hands. That's what happened to me last night, in the first sit and go I entered. On hand 1, I knocked out one of my opponents to double up. On hand 5, I lost half my stack to a second opponent. On hand 9, I lost the other half to the same opponent. Ouch!
